When I first got there I didn’t really have a clue what I was getting myself into. I thought about a lot of things that could have happened on the internship. I thought of places I could have gone, things I could have learned, and even food I could have eaten. But what I got instead was something so much better! I went to places I didn’t even think of that was so much better then what I was thinking. I learned SO much more than I thought. Things that I wished God wouldn’t have shown me or tried to change in me. But once I “gave in” and was open to whatever God wanted to change in me… That is when things really started getting interesting.
At first I thought the internship was just going around with the GOV team to conferences and helping them out at conferences as well as helping them to get ready for conferences. I thought it was all about serving them wherever they need help with all the conferences. But I soon began to find that it was way more than conferences. The GOV team did so much to mentor and disciple me to be a better woman of God. They challenged me beyond belief (although we both know it was God through them). Even at the conferences we are being mentored to and disciple. I often talked with people at the conferences and had them say something that really encouraged me or really got me thinking and I immediately knew it was the Holy Spirit speaking to me through them.
One of my favorite things they did was “worship”. The special worship times were just amazing! You always felt the Holy Spirit’s presence in whatever room/place we were in. But it was more than the special times they set aside or the place/room it was in or even the songs we sang. It was all about just singing praises to God and being united as one body. Nobody cared how the other person sounded or if they were hitting all the notes or even if they looked weird holding their hands up. They just sang or held their hands up to praise God. That’s all it was! It was all about God and praising Him and because of that we were all united as one body. It was just so amazing!
Psalms 98:1 O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.
